India's NBFC sector turns to securitisation to manage liquidity crisis

Indian securitisation market grew by over 50 per cent in the first quarter of fiscal 2019-20 as against the corresponding quarter last year as the NBFC (non-bank financial companies) sector went through a period of major liquidity tightness, as per an ICRA report.


“NBFCs and HFCs continue to rely heavily on securitisation as a tool for raising funds, manage liquidity and to correct any ALM mismatch,” said Abhishek Dafria, head - structured finance ratings at ICRA.
